Shreveport Farmers’ Market

What We’re Known For

Local

We seek to provide a forum creating cooperation among farmers, other vendors, and our community, while educating consumers, offering a market for farmers to sell their goods, serving as a business incubator for food artisans, and bring together people from the Northwest Louisiana, Far East Texas, and Southern Arkansas region.

Market Gear

At the Information Booth, we have ice available for shoppers and vendors, and Shreveport Farmers’ Market branded shirts and bags to show your support of our market.

Growers-Only Market

All our farmers coming from within a 100 mile radius with only two exceptions, grandfathered in from previous rules. Farmers may supplement, with the manager’s approval, up to 5% of their produce for the convenience of our shoppers. Additionally, traditional Louisiana products like cane syrup, rice, seafood, Satsuma oranges, etc., may be sold with the manager’s approval, if unavailable locally.

FMNP and SNAP

The Shreveport Farmers’ Market is the only USDA-Approved farmers’ market in the Shreveport-Bossier community, which allows for acceptance of SNAP benefits. Shoppers with a Louisiana Purchase (SNAP/EBT) card can receive a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $20 in purchases at the Shreveport Farmers’ Market from our partners Louisiana Healthcare Connections and Greaux the Good. Through these partnerships, area SNAP recipients will be able to gain access to fresh, nutritious, local produce at the Shreveport Farmers’ Market while boosting the local economy by shopping with local farmers, ranchers, and artisans. Just stop by the Information Booth to slide your card and receive tokens to spend with our participating vendors.

Some vendors accept food coupons from the Louisiana Farmers’ Market Senior Nutrition Program. For participating vendors, look for the yellow CERTIFIED signs. For more information on the Senior program, contact the Council on Aging in your parish.
